For more than 30 years, Darcy Howe has been an advisor to multiple generational families on wealth transfer, succession planning, capital markets business exit strategies and asset and debt management. Growing a successful entrepreneurial business within a Fortune 100 company, Darcy was named a “Barron’s Magazine Top 100 Women Advisors in the US” as well as Worth magazine’s “Top 100 Wealth Advisors in the US”.

A Founding member of the Merrill Lynch Private Banking and Investment Group division of Merrill Lynch, the division grew from 30 advisors to 350 with $240 billion in assets under management and over $1 billion in revenue before her retirement in 2015.

A 20-year veteran angel investor, Darcy was a founding member of Women’s Capital Connection, a network of accredited investors who invest in women-led, early stage businesses. She has a passion for innovation, both within a large company and back-of-the-napkin ideas which germinate into great businesses and has been a regional leader in the entrepreneurial ecosystem, developing connectivity between funders, entrepreneurs and advisors.

Now the Managing Director of the KCRise Fund, an $18 million sidecar venture capital fund created to invest in Kansas City area high potential early-stage companies, Darcy connects companies with capital from all over the U.S., and brings resources to help these KC companies succeed and bring financial returns for investors.

Darcy is a graduate of the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University and has served on numerous nonprofit boards and committees including Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation, The Kansas City Ballet, The Nelson-Atkins museum audit committee and United Way of Greater Kansas City. She is a member of the International Women’s Forum.

Darcy and her husband, John Black, take pleasure in connecting with their two adult children, often to watch or play sports together and seeing them find paths of achievement. She enjoys sailing, skiing and gardening.
